      A poweruser's dream

I wanted more physical keys than my keyboard provided to assign actions to. When I purchased this Macro Pad I couldn't believe the power that I now had.
It's extremely easy to configure, has a redonculous combination of keys, but also has a several button-push dials as well. I think this is the last macro pad I will ever need!

High quality construction, hardware is durable and customizable.

I like this design's removable metal knobs and keycaps.
I also discovered through dismantling the macro pad(with a simple screwdriver set), that you can easily replace the upper (metal) and lower (plastic?) shell pieces without damaging the PCB or attached display; they also happen to be very robust shell pieces, I'm not fearful of accidentally damaging the pad itself. The foam spacers inside also have channels inset within the shell pieces to rest on.
It would be nice to see standalone upper and lower shells for the Megalodon macro pads down the road, it's an untapped market that would not be difficult to enter for the manufacturer. Many people appreciate the mass of a full-metallic shell, as metal case Keyboards are desirable.

      Superb But Severely Limited Memory

The potential for creative use is endless. The few macros that I defined for Excel and SQL have drastically improved my productivity. However, it’s a bit limiting when there is only a maximum of 16 possible macro definitions (despite there being 4×16 buttons) consisting of key press definitions, each consuming bytes from a shared pool of no more than 800 bytes. When it is a macro pad for this very purpose, it doesn’t seem to fulfil its primary function to make use of all the supposed buttons it has to achieve it. In 2024, the familiar units are gigabytes and terabytes, superseding even megabytes and kilobytes, but here we are dealing with just bytes. An Atari game cartridge from the early 1980s probably had more memory. Even if the pool is in just the kilobytes, this would have allowed all the layers of buttons to have macros of substantial length.

Aside from this, the build quality and appearance of the unit is superb. I brought it to work and a few colleagues noticed it and might be getting ones of their own.

Due to the usefulness despite the memory limitation, I am only knocking down one star. To get around the memory limitation, one can use this in conjunction with AutoHotkey. I did notice in the non-macro button assignments (hence will not consume from that pool of bytes) that there are F keys beyond 12. These can be assigned for that use.

Absolute unit of a macropad for creatives

For the past month I've been on a dilemma between getting this or the TourBox. The latter being specially aimed toward creative workflows, but at the same time being stupidly costly (169 euros for base or whopping 268 euros for wireless!). Other macropads exist such as the ones that XP-Pen, Huion and Xencelabs offer, but they all have one dial, look finicky to use and thin, so I couldn't be bothered with those.

Eventually, as you can see, I opted for this one as its cheaper, removes the necessity of key combinations (contrary to TourBox), more customizable for the aesthetics, hot swappable, compatible on both my Windows PC and Android tablet, can run macros, has an epic name and it glows! The build quality is marvelous and quite sturdy.

      As for the firmware update?
I was conscious and ready of doing such a thing, but to my surprise, by the day I'm writing this review. The update was not necessary at all! Seems to me like the new stock is already updated which makes it plug and play, Edge was able to open VIA browser and I was ready to go. Even the backlight can be changed in VIA by simply using the "Lighting" tab.

Overall, very satisfied with this product.
